I tend to veer towards books full of suspense and murder, and this book fulfilled just that. At times the author would get so descriptive and vile with the murders that it would almost make you want to put the book down, but like a train wreck, you just can't look away. I rated this book a 4 because of how silly some events were. For instance, the feral people chased the teens around the beach with salt shakers and bibs on and the couple had a baby with them the entire time. Those events interrupted the tone of the book and didn't make sense.
